ĀBELĪTES / A LIVING LANDSCAPE AND DAILY WORK
Natural meadows
and EU-interest habitats.
The farmers report around 40 hectares of EU-interest habitats at Ābelītes. Caring for them is part of our everyday grazing management.
01 / OUR GRAZING CYCLE
A meadow needs grazing and time to rest.
Rotating grazing areas gives the grassland time to regrow. Daily animal care and meadow management are parts of the same farming system.

02 / ANIMALS AND LANDSCAPE
Different animals,
different roles.
Cattle, sheep and goats complement one another on the farm. Sheep help graze harder-to-manage areas, while goats help control shrubs and young growth.
According to the owners, the farm has around 40 hectares of EU-interest habitats. Landscape photographs are not an official boundary map.

Work continues in winter too.
Bale grazing is part of the farm’s winter feeding approach. The farmers are happy to discuss this and other methods with interested visitors.
